Epta Piges, translating as Seven Springs, is a picturesque green valley where seven springs converge into a beautiful green lake, surrounded by a multitude of pine and plane trees. There is a wealth of nature to explore, including rare flowers, huge dragonflies, crabs and wild peacocks. There are many footpaths or off-track walking opportunities, following Roman aqueducts, and a well established taverna provides refreshments beside one of the springs.
The highlight of the trip, provided you are not claustrophobic, is an unforgettable walk through an aqueduct encased in a 200 metre long tunnel, pitch black for the majority of the journey, ankle deep in running water, and too small to allow two people to pass each other on the inside. Relax by the lake at the end of the narrow tunnel.
