Situated just 2km from Olive Grove Villa, Lardos is a lively village revolving around a traditional village square. Many British ex-pats now live here among the welcoming locals, and while some more popular tourist locations close down out of season, Lardos remains open and vibrant all the year round.

The large sandy beach at Lardos has Blue Flag status, and watersports are available in Summer. The sand gently shelves into the sea so is very safe for children. Glystra beach, less than a kilometre away from Lardos on the main road, is muchquieter and a great spot for snorkelling or relaxing on a picture postcard Greek beach. There is a small taverna here and toilet and shower facilities. For the more adventurous, walk to the end of the beach to the right, there are a wealth of rock pools to explore.
Many amenities are available in the village - a doctors surgery, dentists, hairdresser, butchers, greengrocers money exchange facility and car/bike hire.
During the day, there are several small department stores for shopping, or visit the ruins of a Byzantine castle just outside the village. There is also an Italian-style fountain in the village, locals often drink the fresh spring water from here - although this is not adviseable to visitors unless they have very strong stomachs!

To amuse children - or more adventurous adults - a popular go-karting track can be found on the outskirts of Lardos, along with a mini-golf course. Nightlife is also lively in Lardos, while retaining an intimate feel. There are several highly recommended tavernas serving a combination of Greek and international dishes, all very reasonably priced and frequented by locals. There is a well organised taxi rank adjacent to the village square, very handy if you want to leave the car at home.

Similarly, bars in Lardos are friendly and are visited by tourists and locals alike. Often spontaneous Greek dancing and singing breaks out, and occasionally local bands play in the village square. Lardos is also a popular venue for local Greek weddings and festivals, anyone lucky enough to be in the village is always heartily invited to join in with the feasts and celebrations!
